Durango Hot Springs, once known as Trimble Hot Springs, is steeped in history and celebrated for its healing mineral waters. Surrounded by towering ponderosa pines and dramatic red cliffs, the geothermal mineral waters hold ancient cultural significance with documented use dating back to 1000-1200 A.D. In 1874, Frank Trimble discovered the therapeutic benefits of the springs and established the first hotel on the property in 1882. Stories of remarkable healing, lively music, movie stars, grand hotels, and devastating fires have shaped the resort’s legacy.
The reimagined resort showcases 40 water attractions, including 32 hot spring mineral pools, two cold plunges, a 25-meter swimming pool, and five private cedar ofuro tubs. The new on-site spa, inspired by the natural hot springs, features customized facials and personalized massage therapies. The property is a National Wildlife Federation-certified wildlife habitat, with over 250 different plant species providing food and cover for a variety of wildlife.

Durango Hot Springs Resort and Spa is located 8 miles north of downtown Durango and 15 miles south of Purgatory Ski Resort in the scenic Animas Valley. The resort offers a relaxing oasis for visitors exploring the San Juan Skyway Scenic and Historic Byway connecting Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Ridgway, Telluride, Cortez, and Mesa Verde National Park.
